I first heard Rosie Assoulin’s name a few months ago when she launched her beautiful Resort Collection in New York. Before starting her own brand Rosie interned at Lanvin and Oscar De La Renta, both designers influence in visible in her work. She built upon resort for spring, and the result is sculptural and elegant ease.
Working with luxurious Italian and Japanese fabrics, she mixed masculine tailoring with relaxed feminine volumes to chic and modern effect. For day, there were relaxed coats, slim trousers and a feminine ivory-and-black jacket with a floating sash – top of my Spring wish list. The evening dresses and separates had a sculptural ease, architectural volumes and modern evening wear. For anybody planning a summer/beach wedding (sis if your reading this, have a look) the last dress is a dream!
