Nina Sum is a young artists based in Shanghai. The most remarkable thing about Nini is her self-confidence and the fact that she is absolutely sure she is doing the right thing in life. And she should have no reason to doubt it, she is a multi-talented artist. Doing sculpture, illustration, painting and recently set-up Idle Beats.What I enjoyed about Nini’s company over lunch was her understanding and patience to allow herself to develop as an artist. As she said herself – that is why I keep a day job, so that I am not desperate to sell my work, this attitude is hard to come by in our fast moving and money grabbing culture.
